Following this month’s “X-Files” event series, the “Prison Break” news comes the same day as the network confirmed the pilot pickup for a “24” reboot.
#PRISON BREAK RETURN SEASON 6 SERIES#
Ever since the end of season five, rumours of a sixth series have been doing the rounds. Heading into the 2016-17 season, Fox is bulking up its slate with revival series. Prison Break premiered on our screens back in 2005 and sadly came to an end in 2017 after five seasons. Is Prison Break season 6 cancelled Prison Break season 6 hasn’t officially been cancelled but it isn’t confirmed either.
The original “Prison Break” centered on a young man (Miller) determined to prove his convicted brother’s (Purcell) innocence and save him from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison. With Fox not announcing any premiere date for the “Prison Break” event series, it’s safe to assume scheduling conflicts are being worked out. The storyline for Prison Break season 6 episode 1 was actually completed, according to Paul Scheuring, who made the announcement in March 2018. It has now been decided to delay or cancel Prison Break season 6 immediately, as it was initially announced. Both Miller and Purcell also star in The CW’s midseason superhero series “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” which debuts Jan. Prison Break Season 6 has been anticipated by fans for the past four years.
No plot details have been released at this point, but last summer at TCA, Walden and Newman spoke of plans for the revival with Walden calling it a “bit of a sequel.” She also said it “picks up a few years after” the original series finale and “addresses questions that were set up during the series,” adding that there is a “logical and believable explanation in the world of ‘Prison Break’” for how the story will continue.
